Another good book, and personal resource for my own story is Jim McEnery's account of Guadalcanal.  McEnery knew my grandfather maybe a little better than the rest of the men, just based on audio interviews I have heard, Jim was Platoon sergeant of 1st Platoon which my grandfather was a part of.  I strongly encourage any of my readers to dig down to the bottom of history.  It is a lack of interest on the part of people in our country that will eventually lead to the loss of our identity as Americans if we don't get started now.  Search, Learn, and Share anything you can about the roots of our nation.
